Candy Apples

How many people would like to have something tasty but healthy at the same time? Well readers, I have the perfect recipe! This week's topic is going to be fun and fruity. Today we are going to make candy apples. This is often sold at carnivals and is very yummy. So let's get started!
      You will need:

  • a sauce pan
  • 1/2 teaspoon of food coloring
  • 1/2  cup light corn syrup
  • apples
  • 3/4 cup of water
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • a sheet pan (greased)
  • wax paper (to be applied on the sheet pan)
  • skewers

Let's begin! Combine water, corn syrup, sugar, and red food coloring. Mix together and set on a stove until the mixture reaches a boil of 310- 315 degrees. Insert the skewers in the middle of the apples. Line a sheet pan with wax paper and wait for the mixture to reach 310 degrees. After the candy has reached 310 degrees, work fast and swirl the apples into the candy until the candy has spread out. It's ready to eat!
